Why I Am Here!

H! My name is Maureen Adams and I teach Grade One at Forestburg School in Forestburg Alberta. I listen to 790 CFCW every morning and when I heard this contest announced I knew I had to enter. One of my favorite projects I do with my Grade Ones is "Flat Stanley". ( www.flatstanley.com ) Flat Stanley is a boy who is flattened when a bulletin board falls on him while he is sleeping. He ends up flat as a pancake and the stories are about all the things he can do because he is so flat, such as slide under doors, fly like a kite, or travel by mail. Because Flat Stanley can travel by mail, teachers all over the world participate in Flat Stanley projects by having students send "Flat Stanley's" to friends and relatives to learn about other communities. ( www.flatstanleyproject.com )The friend or relative is to take pictures of Flat Stanley in thier community and send it back to the class. SOOO, when I heard about Flat Sharon and Danny, I knew this was a contest for me!! I already maintain a blog about the escapades of the Flat Stanley's we send out ( www.mrsadamsapplesflatstanley.blogspot.com ) Right now, our class is reading the story, and getting ready to send our Stanley's. Imagine how excited they will be when I bring Flat Sharon and Danny to our class! We are also participating in a cross Canada project called "Flat Canada" ( www.flatcanada.edublogs.org )- I'm sure all these classes will be excited to meet Flat Sharon and Danny as well! So check back daily to see what Flat Sharon and Danny are up to as they move in with me and my family in FORESTBURG!!!
